The Checkmate 2400 BRX delivers the unmistakable performance of the Checkmate brand while embracing the comfort and versatility today’s boater demands. Delivering speed and a stylish package, the family-friendly 24-foot bowrider is a fun boat.
Led by Pete Caldwell and built in North Carolina, Checkmate caters to the boater looking for performance and style. The deep-V hull delivers performance with Checkmate offering the 2400 BRX with a single outboard from the Mercury 250 Pro XS up to the Mercury Racing 500R. With the base power and Bob’s Machine Shop 10-inch hydraulic jack plate, the 2400 BRX tops 60 mph.
The helm comes standard with a SmartCraft 7” display, but buyers can upgrade to a 9” SmartCraft screen or go with analog gauges. Checkmate includes a side-mount Zero Effort dual handle shifter and easy access to the electric trim tabs. The boat comes standard with a stereo and four speakers, but Checkmate offers an upgraded system that includes two additional speakers, a 10” sub, an amplifier and an additional head unit.
Seating in the cockpit includes adjustable bucket seats for the driver and co-pilot with flip-up cushions and a large bench seat. Color upholstery accents give the bowrider a sporty feel. A tinted custom windshield keeps the wind off the passengers while underway.
The windshield opens in the center for access to the U-shaped seating in the bow. Checkmate created dedicated forward-facing seats in the deep, fully upholstered bow. With an optional filler cushion, the bow can be used as a sun pad.
On the transom, Checkmate integrated swim steps into the mold for easier water access. In addition to grab handles, the 2400 BRX comes with dual boarding ladders. For more fun on the water, Checkmate offers a removable ski tow.
Though the 2400 BRX comes fully equipped, there are a few features to make the bowrider even better. Buyers can personalize the graphics and equip the cockpit with soft-step flooring. Checkmate even offers optional underwater lights.
When Checkmate’s Caldwell bought the boat brand in 2020, his goal was to offer an affordable performance boat. Checkmate’s 2400 BRX checks all those boxes and more.
