Campion Chase 550

As Canada’s largest boat manufacturer, Campion offers a wide selection of models in five distinct series. The Chase 550, is a new addition to their performance outboard series and comes standard with a bundle of sizzle.
Beneath the stylish exterior lines and in gel graphics of the 550 bow rider, you will find a Kevlar reinforced, Campion APEX hull. The seating layout is balanced, with two forward facing loungers in the bow, two bucket seats behind the windshield and a four seat ‘u’ shaped, lounge at the stern. The adjustable bucket seats are exceptionally robust, and include a flip lip for a raised driving position. The swept back windshield has extra large side wings to provide excellent wind protection for passengers.
A high quality, tilt steering wheel and five gauge helm is good looking as well as practical and the padding for the driver’s throttle arm is a thoughtful touch. A good example of items that Campion believe should be included as standard equipment on this model are the depth sounder and hour meter. These same instruments are usually optional extras on competitive brands.
Some of the other items that are included in the base price of the 550 include halogen docking lights, interior courtesy lights, portable cooler, a bow cover, a cockpit cover, a ski pole and all stainless steel hardware. Your kids will love how the bow filler cushion transforms the bow seating to a large open sun-pad.
Of course not everything that you can put on this boat comes standard. Key options include stereo and speaker upgrades, a dual battery switch, Sea Star hydraulic steering, wakeboard tower with racks, convertible top with side curtains, a storage cover and a colour coordinated dashboard.
Campion chose an Evinrude E-TEC, 200 hp, HO to power this performance model. The designation “HO” on Evinrude engines signifies that performance upgrades have been added, such as a straight leading edge gear case with nose-cone pick-ups that significantly improve cooling and race quality gears of extra-tough metallurgy. Stiffer engine mounts improve handling and control at high speeds. This configuration will easily have the Chase 550 top 60 mph.
