The 2020 Edmonton Boat and Sportsmen’s Show will take place March 12-15th at the Expo Centre.  Western Canada’s biggest boat and sportsmen’s show features an extensive variety of products and services geared specifically to outdoor enthusiasts.
“If you enjoy the outdoor lifestyle, getting away from it all, or going off the beaten path, the Edmonton Boat and Sportsmen’s Show is a must attend event” says Marla Kimball, Show Manager, “you will find everything from boats and fishing gear to off road vehicles and trekking poles.  This Show is a one stop shop for all your outdoor needs.”
This is the best time of year to shop and compare on outdoor gear of every description.  If your summer plans include spending time on the water, check out the extensive selection of watercraft and order the boat of your dreams right at the Show, ensuring early delivery to enjoy every moment on the open water this season. There will be “show specials” on a variety of products including water toys, PFDs, loads of accessories, and much more.
Open water means many Albertans’s will be spending countless hours with rod in hand. Stock up on all your fishing needs or hone your skills at the Fly-fishing Learning Centre.  The kids can get in on the fishing action as well.  The Kids Trout Fishing Pond provides an opportunity for the youngsters to participate in the catch and release program offered by the Edmonton Fish and Game Association.
There is so much family entertainment and experiences that can be enjoyed by young and old alike.  The Alberta Hunter Education Instructors’ Association (AHEIA) Zone features hunting, fishing and archery simulators, as well as many hands-on activities related to wildlife, preservation and conservation.  AHEIA’s mandate is to create an ethical, humane and educated Alberta that values wildlife, fish and most importantly the environment.
The West Coast Lumberjack Show presented by Husqvarna is back once again.  The performances are fun as well as entertaining.  Teams will compete head to head in competitive events including axe throwing, standing block chop, Jack and Jill crosscutting, just to name a few.  Pick your favorite team and cheer them on! Talented chainsaw carver Marina Cole will also be on site sculpting unique pieces using only her chainsaw.
The Outdoor Stage is the centre piece of the Show playing host to a number of outdoorsmen and women, sharing information and tales of their fishing, hunting and outdoor experiences.  Take a load off and take in one of the sessions with a topic of particular interest to you.  Presenters include; Wes David, Lisa Roper, Brad Fenson, Rob Dunham, Mitchell Payment, and Steven Smith.  All are well-known experts in their respective fields.  Check the website for presentation topics and times.
For the first time Cobb’s Adventure Park will have their baby kangaroos and wallabies at the Show.  This is a great opportunity to get hands on with these fuzzy creatures and raise funds for Australian wildlife.
The Trail Runners will be at the Show this year conducting demonstrations throughout the weekend.  These incredibly well-trained dogs will perform a variety of obedience and hunting tasks with their handlers.
The National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) Provincial Championships will also take place at this year’s Edmonton Boat and Sportsmen’s Show in Hall D. Talented school aged archers from across the Province will compete for the Provincial title.
If you have always wanted to give archery a try, the Strike Combat Archery Zone provides the perfect opportunity.  Basic training and all the necessary gear is provided.  Challenge your friends, family or foes in a fun and safe environment.
Edmonton Reptile Parties will have a variety of cold-blooded animals on display. Chat with the knowledgeable and passionate staff to find out how these animals are important to our ecosystem, and the pivotal role they play in conservation as well as insect and pest control. For those that are not squeamish take the unique opportunity to touch and hold some of these creatures including tarantulas, scorpions and snakes of all sizes.
The Edmonton Boat and Sportsmen’s Show is the perfect place to research, compare and book a weekend trip or a once in a lifetime adventure excursion.  There are many travel and tourism exhibitors on site ready to provide information about outdoor adventures and any destination you can imagine, from Westcoast fishing trips to hunting trips half-way around the world.
