Sea Ray Boats, owned by the Brunswick Corporation is the world’s largest manufacturer of recreational boats, with models from 19 ft up to 40 ft in length. Sea Ray has been building boats for so long that their salespeople know ahead of time what prospective buyers want on a boat and they constantly intertwine with their design staff to make subtle changes to the product line. The 260 SLX bow rider is one of Sea Ray’s most popular models and it is constantly being tweaked with little changes to satisfy customer requests.
With its more than ample seating (i.e. for 12 adults) the Sea Ray 260 SLX’s quality heavy duty vinyl seats will suit any riders anatomy, while under the seats you will find abundant storage for anything and everything an owner might want to bring onboard.
Take a look at the deck where hatches open up for you to store a couple pairs of water skis, wake boards, and just about anything else you might want to bring onboard.
Electrically speaking, a 12V triple bank battery charger is standard along with a battery switch and a 120V outlet. USB and 12V outlets are found throughout the boat along with 17 cup holders – yes 17 stainless-steel cup holders, so don’t forget the drinks and your ‘koozies’ to keep everything cool once they are out of the cooler under the sun pad! An AM/FM stereo and four speakers are also standard as is Apple AirPlay.
The digital dash on 260 is designed for ergonomics including a chart plotter loaded with maps, plus every other item you would expect to need from the world’s largest boat manufacturer including power assisted steering and electronic gear shifting.
The Sea Ray 260 SLX is powered by an ample 6.2L/350 HP Mercruiser inboard coupled to Mercury’s proven Bravo Three outdrive with dual stainless-steel props. Maximum speed with a light load is in the high 40 mph range. Loaded up with fuel, eight to ten passengers and pulling a skier you will be in the high 30’s or low 40 mph range.
