Wellcraft has been building fishing boats since 1955, and they are still a major player in the center console fishing boat market. Their 202 Fisherman model is Wellcraft’s smallest model and is a great entry level family fishing boat for any family, of fisherman.
Thee are 6 padded seats in the boat including 2 foldable jump seats at the transom, while underneath the 20 footer’s center console you will find room to change clothes or add an optional porta pottie, plus store other odds and ends of items that all boaters seem to accumulate.
Wellcraft has made use of every bit of useable space for storing items, and the standard powdercoated t-top even comes with a small storage bag for light weight items. P.S. The t-top even folds so the boat on its trailer will fit into many garages.
Under gunwale rod racks will hold 4 rods – 2 per side, and there is a raw water wash down on the port aft side for cleaning up a fish mess. Anglers who fish with live bait will appreciate the large livewell in the bow with its glass bulkhead viewing window.
Available in 6 different exterior colors, standard power on the Wellcraft 202 is 150 hp, which is plenty of power as long as you’re not hauling around 5 or 6 adults. The boats high gunwales are perfect for keeping small kids in the boat, and also good for leaning your legs against while fighting a fish
