Beneteau is the worlds largest power and sail boat manufacturer, with production facilities in France and the United States. Their Flyer 7 SUNdeck is one of their more popular entry level center console outboard powered boats that we here at Power Boating Canada recently reviewed.
While the Beneteau Flyer SUNdeck 7 is geared more towards family use with its large padded forward sundeck, there is plenty of room in the stern for 2 or 3 anglers to cast. A stainless-steel bow railing helps kids as well as adults hold onto while on the large sunpad, and at the boats forepeak you will find a stainless steel anchor roller and anchor locker large enough to hold 200-300 feet of anchor line.
Unique to the Flyer SUNdeck 7 is the sliding plexiglass door adjacent to the helm that allows access to the spacious cabin below the SUNdeck. The cabin contains two padded V-berths with sleeping room for two adults and a child, and also has a space dedicated for an optional porta pottie or small refrigerator.
With its revolutionary Air Step® 2 hull, the 23 ft SUNdeck 7 gets on plane quickly and is stable even at wide open throttle. Beneteau offers a plethora of options on their Flyer 7 SUNdeck to suit any boaters needs, including a chartplotter/sonar combo, a ski pilon, etc., and while the boat comes standard with a 150 hp outboard, we felt the optional 200 hp would be a better engine choice.
