The Canadian Sportfishing Industry Association is pleased to announce that well-known and respected angler Patrick Campeau is the recipient of its 2026 President’s Award.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Patrick’s position as National Fishing Week Ambassador in Quebec and, in fact, he is the event’s only French language spokesperson.
“Patrick is well known in the recreational fishing industry in Quebec and across Canada as a passionate advocate of the benefits of recreational fishing, and his social and traditional media reach proves it,” stated Rob Walton, CSIA President. “Each year, including this year, Patrick’s National Fishing Week (June 27th to July 5th, 2026), giveaway of fishing rods and reels, Catch Fishing books and fishing tackle to aspiring anglers reaches tens of thousands of online followers. I am very pleased to recognize Patrick’s many contributions in promoting and protecting recreational fishing in Canada.”
Patrick Campeau has been a full-time professional angler for over 40 years and during that time he has become one of Canada’s, especially French Canada’s, most prolific outdoor writers and media personalities having written almost 5,000 articles. As a three-time Quebec champion, seven times in the top seven at professional Canadian competitions, Patrick was inducted in the Canadian Angler Hall of Fame in 2014, the only French Canadian to receive the honour.
