Starcraft marine has been building quality pontoon boats out of their continually updated and modernized plant for decades, using only the very top construction methods (many of which were pioneered by Starcraft) performed by expert craftsmen and women who love what they do.  The Starcraft pontoon line consists of nine different model lines – a great attestation to the fact that the buyer demand for diversity is alive and well.

Let’s take a look at one of their brand new for 2020 models – the CX 25 DL Bar.

The 25” pontoon tubes are connected to the deck with four contact points fused up the length of the tube. This increases strength and reduces frame twist in rough water so your Starcraft pontoon can handle anything out there plus today’s higher horsepower engines and still be as solid twenty years from now as it was the day it was built. In addition, Starcraft’s “hat design” of their cross members (versus other manufacturers “c-channel” design) means that twice the number of through-bolt mechanical fasteners are used to construct the deck on top of the tubes, and this provides for an even weight distribution of the deck load and longer overall life. To the hat crossmembers, a seven-ply three-quarter inch marine plywood deck is through-bolted and screwed. You can choose to have your tubes painted black for a unique look that turns heads.

Built upon that solid deck design, the CX 25 DL Bar’s layout features a traditional two sofa design forward with generous storage space under the rot-free seat bases. The single helm chair is opposite an l-shaped lounge to port with a twist. The DL designation stands for dual lounge, meaning that the seatback can in it’s rear position to create the l-shaped lounge, or flipped forward to create a bench seat at the convertible bar.

The convertible bar comes with four pedestal stools, two on each side, and a faux granite-looking countertop surface that will stand up to years of use and weather exposure. The lighted cup holders are a nice touch.

Moving aft through the starboard side access gate, you’ll notice a very sturdy four-step reboarding ladder, and matching ski tow bar.

Overhead a colour matched bimini – built on truly rattle free frame and connections to the rails – offer sunshade when your guests want it.

You can choose to add one or more of several packages to customize your pontoon the way you want. Add the premium sound package, or the Wake Tower package, or the Weekender package that upgrades to a high back helm chair, cooler storage table and colour coordinated mood lighting.

If you upgrade to three tubes, an in-floor storage locker adds a huge space to store wet gear or all the clutter that you just know up to 14 people can bring aboard with them, plus you can increase your maximum horsepower from 150hp to 300hp making the CX 25 Bar an exciting ride for sure.
