FIRST PLACE WINNERS! PBC's Todd Taylor presents over $4000 in cash and prizes to Betty Ann Maynard and her crew from Hastings Marine! The second weekend Rendez-vous of the summer of 2011 was held up in the Kawartha Lakes Region of Ontario on Stoney Lake at the Stoney Lake Market at Crowes Landing. The Stoney Lake Market storefront was a buzz of activity on Friday evening as everyone arriving up to their cottages wanted to know what was going on. On Saturday, July 16nd the registration began and afterwards the mandatory Drivers Meeting was held to advise on the safety regulations and the route to be taken. Participants took to their boats - some with additional crew along for at least part of the ride - around 11am and we departed Crowes Landing enroute to the first card stop at Kawartha Park Marina at the junction of Stoney Lake and Clear Lake. then it was back to the Stoney Lake Market for a delicious roast beef (and the best horseradish I've ever tasted!) lunch and the third card was picked up. The boats were off again down the lake to their fourth card stop at Young's Point Marina, and then back home for the fifth and final card. Poker hands were revealed after very sunny and fun-filled day on the water and winners and prizes were awarded. Everyone is excited about what next years event will bring and the word is already spreading quickly.
FIRST PLACE: Betty Ann Maynard, Jerry McGraw, Mike Maynard, James Moore, and Jake Thompson won $4000 in cash and prizes including a $3000 Gevril mens watch, a Nautilus Marine portable booster pack, a 12V Koolatron cooler, a Navagloo boat storage kit, and a free entry into an upcoming Rendez-vous event.

What's a Rendez-vous? For the third event, we will return to where Poker Runs started some 25 years ago: Gananoque, Ontario. On July 22nd and 23rd we'll converge on the waterfront and cruise around the St. Lawrence river's in the well protected waters amongst the many limestone islands. The scenery is spectacular and it's a great spot to get that photo of you and your boat that you can blow up and frame! Just cruise on up to the pace boat and we'll snap a few for you to choose from later at the registration tent. Then we close out this summer's events with our forth Rendez-vous in Orillia August 5th to 6th. |
