The new season is here and if you haven’t decided
on a model yet, now is the perfect time to finalize
your choice. Power Boating Canada showcases a handful
of the latest entries that will undoubtedly paint
the perfect picture for your 2006 season.
Yamaha SX 230
New
to the Canadian boating scene this year is Yamaha’s
SX230 Sport Boat, which is just one of four models
in the company’s Bowrider series. Starting at
the stern, the 230 has a thoughtfully-designed integrated,
two-tiered, swim platform that doubles as a unique
on-water patio. There’s a mount for a dinette
table along with seat back cushions to relax in total
comfort. It also features a non-skid deck surface,
an integrated stainless steel swim ladder, ample storage
space for gear plus a transom walk-thru. The cockpit
is even more functional thanks to a spacious seating
layout that can accommodate ten. There’s a large
U-shape aft bench, pair of high-back, flip-up captain’s
seats and additional seating in the bow. For entertaining,
this 23-footer is set to thrill with a second mount
for the pedestal table in the cockpit, satellite-ready
JBL Marine sound system, and several drink holders.
When it comes time to ride, the 230 conceals twin
Yamaha MR-1 EFI engines offering 280 horses, allowing
plenty of boost for water sports or all-day cruising.
