Sea-Doo Challenger 180 CS     By Steve Fennell
Sea-Doo’s latest sport boat is ready for excitement when you are!

Sea-DooGo fast or go home perfectly coins Sea-Doo’s 2006 Challenger 180 CS. But with many interesting highlights such as plush seating and several amenities, this entry provides comfort in the fast lane for the whole family.

While the 180 CS has an LOA of 17 feet, seven inches, company designers maximized its beam to offer plenty of space for many features.

Complementing the 180’s sleek profile is a large wraparound windshield. It’s large enough to offer ample protection from wind or water spray and tapers all the way amidships. Six stainless steel cleats are found throughout while some other exterior appointments include a ski tow-eye, bow and stern eyes, rub rail and exhaust vents for the 215 hp 4-TEC four-stroke engine.

Located aft is a large swim platform featuring a convenient, concealed ladder and three grab handles for easier access out of the water. Just forward of the platform are a pair of storage compartments port and starboard, providing ample room for PFDs, lines or other boat gear. In between these compartments is a transom walk-thru for convenient access into the cockpit.

The interior of the 180 is deep and comfortable. There’s a large, aft bench, passenger seat, helm bucket plus a U-shaped bench in the bow. Bow filler cushions are available to transform this area to a large and comfortable sunlounge. The seats at the helm and companion console swivel to conveniently face passengers sitting on the aft bench while grab rails are found throughout for added security in rough weather.

Storage space on the 180 CS is abundant. Users will find a built-in cooler below the port side cushion on the aft bench, while more gear or supplies can be stowed in the large in-floor locker and under the cushions in the bow. A glove box is incorporated at the companion console to safely conceal sunglasses, keys or other valuables.

Drivers of the 180 CS will appreciate the helm. It’s stylish, has a clean layout and features full instrumentation with backlit gauges and rocker switches. Sparing no expense in the performance department, Sea-Doo powered the 180 CS with a supercharged, intercooled 215 hp 4-TEC four-stroke engine. Not only does this provide ample performance for wakeboarding skiing, or tubing, but it can easily take you where you want to go quick and efficiently.

Some other added features exclusive to the 180 CS is custom-fit snap-in carpeting, a stereo remote and optional waketower. The 180 CS is available in Steel Blue or Fire Copper.
