Edgewater 185 DC
An easy-handling cottage boat with the integrity of a larger vessel.

EdgewaterEdgewater’s 185 Dual Console is the ideal choice for cottage boaters looking for a solid, family runabout that provides ideal running characteristics, a comfortable ride and long list of highlights for various boating activities.

It’s quite apparent quality construction is a priority with Edgewater. By hiring outside composite consulting companies, Marine Concepts and Structural Composites, Edgewater Powerboats has succeeded in implementing an all composite manufacturing process. The hulls are constructed of multiple layers of hand-laid woven roving fiberglass, along with a one-piece Permagrid stringer system glassed in as the structural backbone. The hull sides and decks are cored with Divinicell while the transoms are high-density Penske Extreme core, which are reinforced with layers of 3610 multi-axial fiberglass. With such rock-solid manufacturing, it’s no surprise the company offers a limited, lifetime structural hull warranty.

The 185 DC’s stylish profile is augmented with a sleek, custom split aluminum tempered, safety glass, walk-thru windshield plus a one-inch 316 stainless steel bow rail, which also lends security when handling lines or docking. Users will also appreciate the three eight-inch stainless steel cleats and pair of eight-inch spring line cleats.

The interior of the 185 DC has an impressive 53 square feet of cockpit space and its deep, 22-inch freeboard offers security in rough water. There’s no need to worry about seating space either. Two transom quarter cushioned jump seats are located on either side of the engine well, while two deluxe pedestal seats are featured forward at the companion console and helm. Additional seating is found up in the open bow. If you require more space, Edgewater offers an optional port side back-to-back sleeper seat.

Driver’s of the 185 DC will enjoy the helm with its stainless steel wheel featuring no-feedback steering with an adjustable steering column, Edgewater compass and plenty of space to add personal electronics. Hydraulic steering is optional.

Some benefits for recreational fishermen include two gunnel-mounted, stainless steel rod holders, seven-inch gunwale rod boxes and if users are serious about fishing, opt for the 15-gallon recirculating baitwell, second battery tray with switch, tackle box, and extra pair of gunnel-mounted rod holders.

But the 185 DC is designed for the whole family in mind. Add the optional ski pylon, swim platform with ladder, bow filler cushions, and convenient six-gallon freshwater system and fun can be enjoyed all day whether you like to cruise, fish or just enjoy the boating lifestyle in a quiet cove.
