Shining
of pure quality from bow to stern.
Carver
Yachts has expanded its sedan series for 2006 with the
launch of the 42 Super Sport. The 42 is just one of
three new models this year from Carver and will certainly
appeal to cruisers looking plush comfort, optimum styling
and that extra touch of class.
Boarding this 43-footer is made easy thanks to the large
aft swim platform. It comes complete with a telescoping,
concealed boarding ladder, along with a one-inch stainless
steel grab rail for even easier access out of the water.
Claimed to be the largest in its class, the cockpit
is impressive with several standard features. A pair
of lockers provide more than enough space for essential
boat gear and for entertaining after the sun sets, there
are seven recessed courtesy lights. Mounted on the underside
of the bridge, which extends approximately three-quarters
over the cockpit, are three additional halogen lights.
Both set of lights are controlled by separate mounted
switches. Carpeting covers the deck and there’s
more than enough space to place a lounge or pair of
deck chairs.
Another comfortable area on the 42 is up in the large,
comfortable bridge that’s accessed by a staircase
leading from the cockpit. Seating space up here can
easily accommodate family and friends. There are four
forward facing seats at the helm console plus a large
L-shaped lounge that can seat six. A dinette table,
a full wet bar and plush carpeting are just a few of
the features.
The salon is the perfect place to relax. The salon décor
is luxurious and there are several highlights including
two chairs and a sofa from FlexSteel, 65-ounce cut pile
carpeting, and an entertainment centre featuring a 20-inch
LCD TV with a DVD and AM/FM/CD stereo with satellite
radio. There are also two speakers, a telephone connection,
110V outlets throughout and the sofa is complemented
with a five-piece decorator pillow set.
Those on kitchen duty will appreciate the stainless
steel sink, upright refrigerator/freezer, a smooth-top
two-burner range, convection oven and microwave plus
a coffee maker.
When it comes time to turn in for the evening, the 42
offers a master stateroom and what Carver calls a VIP
room. The master stateroom boasts a queen berth, mirrored
headboard, plush cut pile carpeting, ample storage space,
along with six halogen lights, an overhead hatch, and
two speakers with volume control.
More comfort is found in the VIP room with a double
berth, ample storage space, 110V outlet, a mirrored
headboard and portlights with a screen for ventilation.
While both rooms also have access to a head and share
many common features, the master head offers a bench
seat in the shower stall, removable shower head and
a towel bar.
