Trophy 1952 WA      by Steve Fennell
A trailerable, heavy water contender tricked out with several fishing features.

Trophy 1952 WAThe 1952 WA from Trophy Boats has an LOA of 19 feet with a beam of eight feet, providing the right dimensions to easily trailer or take on heavy water where the big fish play. An added bonus is the array of user-friendly features and several options to meet your personal fishing needs.

Like every Trophy in this series, the 1952 is built with a foam-filled, hand-laid fiberglass stringer system to offer added rigidity, flotation and durability. The bow of the deep-V hull is also flared to provide a dry, smooth ride. Trophy offers a 10-year structural hull warranty.

No matter where you fish, the cockpit will be ready at every command. The 13-gallon, aerated baitwell will keep bait alive and healthy no matter how far your travels take you. The cushioned helm and companion buckets offer comfort on the way and are removable for easy cleaning. More seating is found just behind the helm.

Further convenience is provided by the fully loaded dash featuring a top-mounted binnacle with trim and tilt switch in the handle, rack and pinion steering and full instrumentation, including oil pressure, a tachometer, engine temperature and voltmeter. There’s also a 2.5-inch flush-mounted illuminated compass. Ample space is provided for personal electronics and a high profile windshield will offer protection from heavy wind or water spray. Some added touches throughout the cockpit include beverage holders, grab handles for security, storage lockers and gunnel-mounted rod holders. Trophy also featured a set of steps which lead up to the walkaround and foredeck. Here you’ll find a non-skid surface, an anchor roller and locker plus a welded bow rail.

Entry into the cabin is via a lockable door just beside the helm. Down here you’ll find a large berth with ample storage underneath, while one section of the seat lifts up to access a small portable head. Overhead lighting is also included.

When it comes to powering the 1952, several options are available from MerCruiser, ranging from the standard 3.0L 135 hp with an Alpha One drive to the ever-popular 4.3L MPI 220 hp with an Alpha One drive. The hefty Cummins MerCruiser 1.7L diesel offering 120 horses is also available.

Some other options worth considering include a galvanized, single-axle trailer with brakes and swing-away tongue, coaming pads, raw water wash down, and bimini enclosure.
