A well-equipped fishing machine loaded for action.
Lowe
is back for the 2005 with several new offerings, including
the FM 185S Fishing Machine. This Missouri-based builder
has offered the FM series for several years now and,
like all Fishing Machines, this latest entry is built
on an all-welded hull offering four extruded keels,
plus an extra heavy-duty extruded centre keel for added
strength.
What’s more impressive is the long list of standards
thrown in the mix. There’s a Humminbird Piranha
Max 20 fishfinder, Minn Kota 55PD (Power Drive) electric
motor and three removable pedestals seats. Add the choice
of several power and trailer options and you can head
out right after taking off the price sticker.
The pressure-treated plywood floor houses a 38-gallon
fuel tank, and is covered with 16-ounce marine-grade
carpeting stretching from bow to stern. There are five
pedestal seat mounts.
Since the majority of your time on the water will be
spent fishing, Lowe has incorporated stern and bow platforms
with ample room and storage. The stern boasts a 14.5-gallon
aerated livewell, while the bow is outfitted with a
17-gallon aerated, timed baitwell and trim/tilt switch.
A rod locker is featured to port and there are several
other compartments complete with aluminum hatch lids.
An acrylic ABS moulded console with a nine-inch tinted
windshield features an array of chrome bezel instruments,
anti-feedback tilt steering, a three-spoke soft grip
wheel, 12-volt receptacle horn, emergency ignition stop
switch and flush-mounted side throttle.
By recognizing every angler has their own preferences,
Lowe offers a few thoughtful options such as a trolling
motor upgrade to a 65PD Minn Kota, deluxe fishing seats,
downrigger support brackets, vinyl floor and mooring
cover. The 185 can come equipped with a JBL marine digital
AM/FM/CD marine stereo with a one-year subscription
to the Sirius satellite radio system. Another choice
worth considering is the two-step swim platform.
Lowe’s effort to please recreational anglers is
evident in the FM 185S. There’s everything to
meet the demands of challenging environments plus some
ideal touches to make your experience much more convenient.
Throw in a few of the added options and you’ll
be even more set for an exciting day on the water. |
