Carver 56 Voyager Pilot House      by Steve Fennell
A real crowd-pleaser with new appointments and style.

Carver 56 Voyager Pilot HouseIf you have ever wondered how a yacht builder can make a model even more striking take a look at Carver’s 56 Voyager Pilothouse. For 2005, company designers restyled this 59-footer with several new appointments to take your breath away.

It’s quite clear that Carver recognizes the need for convenience on the water. Starting in the luxurious command bridge, there’s a spacious portside U-shaped lounge that can seat up to seven. It’s complemented with a fibreglass table, allowing you to serve up freshly cooked meals on the standard grill. There’s also a large wet bar, recessed cooler and several beverage holders. More seating is found on the doublewide lounge and helm seat. Overhead is a hard top to escape from the sun while the whole upper platform extends over the aft deck.

Access from the command bridge down to the aft deck is via a set stairs with grab rails for security. This is another relaxing area where you can entertain guest thanks to the cockpit table and bench. Easy access to and from the large swim platform is provided by the transom door. Some other key appointments include shorepower connections and storage.

To discover even more luxury, enter the salon via the set of doors just off the aft deck. Inside you’re greeted with a spacious U-shaped Ultraleather sofa, which can be converted to a dinette with the standard table. Just forward is a large galley that is open to the entire salon. An electric range, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, coffee maker, flat-screen TV and storage space are just a few of the amenities. Ample light is provided by the glass sliding door, port, starboard and forward windows, plus the interior lights.

The pilothouse offers optimum comfort to man the controls with such highlights as the Ultraleather helm chair, chrome bezel instruments and Momo steering wheel.
When it’s time to turn in for the evening, the Voyager offers comfort at its finest. The master suite comes with a large queen-size island berth with two end tables, overhead lighting and a five-drawer dresser. It also boats three storage cabinets and three hanging lockers. More comfort is found in the two additional staterooms. One features an island berth with innerspring mattress, while the other comes with upper and lower bunks.

No matter where you relax or entertain on the 56 Voyager, your needs will be met. With the several hefty power options in gas or diesel configurations, she’s the ideal vessel for offshore cruising or to enjoy relaxing moments on the water with family or friends.
