This Canadian builder offers a model ideal for family
outings.
 Campion’s
offerings this year include the all-new Explorer 542
Sport Cabin, a welcome addition to this already-impressive
series of versatile boats. Cruise. Fish. Ski. The choice
is yours thanks to the complete list of standards and
functionality throughout this 20-footer.
One of the highlights of the 542 is its spacious cockpit
offering ample seating with a pair of removable stern
seats, portside back-to-back sleeper seat and the swivel
bucket at the helm. Directly behind the helm chair is
an additional hinged padded seat with storage below.
Drivers will appreciate the helm with its array of features
including a stainless steel Shurgrip rubber-coated steering
wheel, compass and electric horn. A full series of gauges
also complement the helm. Surrounding the forward section
is a large safety-glass windshield to protect drivers
and passengers from wind and water spray.
Some other highlights in the cockpit include downrigger
support brackets, a built-in kicker motor mount, gunnel
rod storage and side panel storage for additional gear.
When the fish are active, Campion features ample room
for your catch in the built-in bait tank and fish storage
under the port side seat. Some options in the fishing
department include an aerated live bait tank and livewell,
raw water washdown system and fishfinder/GPS.
Access to the cabin is found between the helm and portside
sleeper seat. This door is lockable and provides ample
room to store essential boat gear such as water tows,
PFDs or more gear. Campion also offers a Porta-potti
with pump out.
Safe access to the foredeck is via a nine-inch walkaround
with a large welded staineless steel bow rail. Some
highlights up here include a bow anchor with rope locker
and roller.
While there are many standard features on Campion’s
542 SC, the extensive option list can cater to your
every boating need. Drivers may want to opt for the
in-dash depth sounder, full-gauge package and Seastar
hydraulic steering. Family members will definitely be
interested in the Premium Clarion weatherproof AM/FM/CD
stereo, stainless steel tripod and snap-in carpeting.
No matter which you choose, the 542 SC can accommodate
your every need on the water.
