Family values will only get stronger with this new model.
The
Islander series has reaped a lot of success in recent
years by combining non-stop power with convenience and
comfort. While the 192 bears this same concept, there’s
a few added touches this year to make performance boating
even more of a family affair.
With a length of 19 feet, two inches and beam of just
over seven, don’t let its size fool you. The cockpit
is spacious offering a stern bench with storage, a pair
of buckets forward plus more space in the open bow.
An added bonus is no matter where you sit, there’s
more than enough legroom to stretch out and enjoy the
ride.
Those at the helm will appreciate the large easy-to-read
gauges, custom-tilt wheel and performance throttle.
If you don’t see what you like, just ask and Baja
will open the doors to its Custom Shop, which offers
several optional appointments to suit your taste. Surrounding
the forward section is a large sport-style walk-through
windshield.
Located just to starboard is a small walk-through allowing
easy access to the bow. Considered the best seats in
the house, there’s more than enough space for
three or four with room for the optional cooler.
Some other cockpit highlights include a wide aft swim
platform with stainless ladder plus a ski tow. A Clarion
AM/FM/CD stereo with multiple speakers comes standard
while another thoughtful option is a wakeboard tower.
Ample storage space for boat gear and water toys can
be found throughout.
In the power department, Baja’s standard performance
package is a 4.3 L MerCruiser offering 190 horses and
speeds topping 50 mph. If you want a little more action
from the throttle, opt for the available MerCruiser
5.0 L 220 hp or the MerCruiser 5.0L MPI with 260 hp.
While you’re cruising at top speeds, there’s
no worry about looking good. This Baja offers some serious
graphic options, adding even more looks to power.
The 192 Islander will please family boaters looking
for that extra bit of performance for fun and waterports. |
