SUMMER
2004: POWER AND EXCITEMENT! (19-3)

With
the warmer weather finally sweeping across the country,
the boating spirit is as strong as ever! From what we
have heard so far, several action-packed events are
taking place all summer long to enhance your boating
lifestyle.
Starting June 18, the In-Water Spring Boat Show in Orillia,
Ontario will be showcasing some of the most popular
models while marine manufacturers will display an assortment
of the hottest boat gear. Or check out the Port Credit
Boat Show in Mississauga, Ontario, from August 27-29
and the Toronto In-Water Boat Show at Ontario Place
from September 16-19.
The beautiful city of Victoria, British Columbia will
be hosting the Classic Boat Festival from September
16-19 while Kelowna is the hot spot for wakeboarding
with the Extreme Sport Series Wakefest from July 9-11.
Additional events on this scene include Wakeboarders
Welcome at Head Lake, Haliburton, Ontario from June
12-13 and the Wakestock World Cup 2004 in Wasaga Beach,
Ontario, from August 5-8. Be sure to attend any one
of Power Boating Canada's action-packed poker runs for
a glimpse of the fastest and hottest craft on the water.
This year, events will be held throughout Ontario, Quebec
and the United States, so check out the poker run calendar
in this issue to see which event suits your summer schedule.
While the 2004 boating season is shaping up to be an
exciting one, the staff at Power Boating Canada have
been busier than ever. Our editorial team just returned
from Bombardier's invitation-only press event in Stuart,
Florida, with the hot news about Evinrude's all-new
V-6 E-TEC outboard. Be sure to look for a test on this
powerhouse in the next issue.
