Shifting Weight A Real Gas (19-2)
Steve Horsfall I am having the stringers, transom and floor replaced in my 1977 Wellcraft V-20. I'm going to replace the two 20-gallon saddle tanks with a 60-gallon tank that will be positioned from the front to the back beneath the floor. Should I be concerned with placing the 60-gallon tank too far forward as the saddle tanks were set toward the back of the vessel?

WINTER RITUALS
I have a 1997 Malibu 2050 sport cuddy powered by a 5.7L Volvo. Since this is my first winter as a boat owner, what should I do to winterize the engine besides fill the gas tank and put stabilizer in it? I live in Nanaimo BC, where the coldest temperature only goes as low as Ð3C for approximately 10 days. I am storing the engine with the boat under a portable garage with a winter cover over it.

TAKE A LOAD OFF
How would you compare the effectiveness of the traditional transom saver with the ones that merely fit between the lower unit and the motor bracket?

SALT AND PREPARATION
I have a 1987 Celebrity powered by a 350 GM 260 hp engine featuring an open cooling system. The boat is sometimes used in salt water. How much damage am I doing to this unit by using it in salt water? Also, do you know of a dealer in the Maritimes who would be able to supply a closed cooling system at a fair price, either new or used? Any information would be helpful.
