Sylvan 1900 Pro Fish DC by Steve Fennell

If you're serious about fishing Sylvan Marine has unveiled the 1900 Pro Fish DC. This is just one of five boats in its newly designed Pro Fish series and definitely a model you should check out at boat shows this winter.

Its solid-as-a-rock hull features a one-piece bottom with the AIRS (Advanced Integrated Rib System). This process forms an strong interior skeleton with five external strakes to provide additional structural strength, positive hull lift and protection.

Sylvan 1900 Pro Fish DC So, wherever the fish lead you, the 1900 can hold its own in a variety of locations and conditions. Its length of 18'10" and wide beam of 96" means there is ample room to feature an expansive seating arrangement. Five seat bases secure two movable hydraulic pedestals and three bass seats. Two more flip-up-style seats are located to port and starboard on the large rear casting platform.

The transom is nicely finished with smooth corners and the engine well is clean and spacious. Like the cockpit and bow, this whole area is carpeted. Adding to its overall clean appearance are two six-inch pop-up cleats on each aft corner. Other highlights back here include a bow baitwell with bucket, a 30-gallon livewell featuring a recirculating pump, timer and lights plus a 40-gallon in-floor fuel tank.

If you need room for boat or fishing gear, storage space is one feature the 1900 isn't lacking. The stern and bow feature large compartments and two eight-foot, lighted rod holders can hold several poles for different fishing applications. There's additional space for three batteries and even more room under both consoles. The large lockable glove box portside can hide valuables. Up here, this whole area is protected by the large, wraparound windshield. This makes riding, or driving in rough water so much more comfortable.

The helm is clean, well-organized and the gauges are conveniently located for easy viewing. Switches are located to the starboard side of the wheel. Drivers will appreciate the anti-feedback steering system. In case the fish aren't biting, you can always turn on the AM/FM CD stereo system.

The bow can be accessed via a walk-thru windshield. Here, you'll find more storage, another 30-gallon livewell and baitwell featuring a recirculating pump, timers and lights. There's also a trolling motor panel.

With other handy features like the navigational lights, the fisherman's top and bow/stern courtesy lights, the 1900 is a welcome addition to the Sylvan family. It has the strength and features anglers need for fishing action.
