William E. Taylor A Recording Setting Summer

We at Power Boating Canada magazine can't take all the credit for this summer's record-breaking temperatures, but we sure did crank up the heat with many sizzling events!

The roar of thunder echoed across the crystal clear blue waters of Georgian Bay to the delight of thousands of spectators lining the shores at this summer's Poker Run. Experience the heart-throbbing, white-knuckled excitement as we take you along for the ride in The Big Deal on page 48. This Poker Run, as with all the ones we host, offered more than sheer thrill. Our boating community was able to give back to the community at large through generous donations to local charitable organizations. We are proud to be part of this exciting lifestyle and look forward to next summer as we ramp up our contributions.

As the days get shorter make sure to find the time for one last cruise. And just when you're heading in for the season, Power Boating Canada is heading back out. From dealer meetings to special invitation-only launches, our editorial team is criss-crossing North America testing the 2002 model lineup for next year's boating season. New technology and trends enure something for everyone's boating lifestyle. In the meantime, turn to page 41 and check out What's New for '02. From sleek fishing boats to stylish sport cruisers, this section features a collection of offerings geared for a wide-range of boaters.

Join Doug Dawson at the helm of the 280 Scout Centre Console and discover the latest helm hardware for your boating convenience. Also, hop aboard Sea Ray's newest crown jewel with Mike Burns as he puts the 360 Sundancer through its paces. PBC was among a select group to inspect Bombardier's new Fish Hawk series. On page 37, we take you down to sunny Florida for a personal glimpse of the latest model lineup.

With another eventful season coming to a close, start to prepare for your 2002 season by attending the boat shows that lay just around the corner. Begin right here at Power Boating Canada with the latest in boat models and hot new products. We'll be at all the major fall boat shows, so make sure you drop by and say hi! (Top)
