Grand Banks Yachts, based in Holland, Michigan, is set to debut its latest offering, the GB60.  An exciting addition to Grand Banks Yachts’ fleet, the GB60’s sumptuous lines recall an era when balance and proportion were integral to a yacht’s design. Its’ very generous 19′ beam offers ample room for three staterooms and two full heads. Seating abounds in the salon, aft deck and on the spacious flybridge. Like all the company’s vessels, a designer’s artistic touch is evident in every aspect of the boat.
Grand Banks Yachts has built luxurious coastal and ocean-going yachts since 1956. The company is known for embracing the latest technology for its classic designs.  Leveraging the latest in marine technology, hull #1 of the 65′ cruiser will feature Twin Disc maneuverability and control.
For many, piers, pilings and nearby vessels are the most nerve-wracking part of boating. To ensure their customers’ ability to confidently pilot around these obstacles, Grand Banks chose a total Twin Disc control solution.
The GB60 will be delivered with Twin Disc’s MGX 5096A QuickShift marine transmissions, Express Joystick System (EJS) at three stations, dual EC300 Power Commander Electronic Controls with Express Positioning and the new Digital Thruster Panel. This provides the helmsman with effortless fingertip control over the 51,520 lb. vessel’s 900 hp Volvo Penta D13 engines, and Twin Disc BP300 bow and stern thrusters.
Whether pulling into a slip with a tide running, spinning the boat on its own axis in mid-channel or crabbing sideways away from a fuel dock, the GB60 offers unmatched precision maneuverability. And with the touch of a button, Express Positioning and the EJS use a GPS to maintain the vessel’s desired position and heading.
Grand Banks also announced that effective fall 2015, it will now offer a customer-direct sales model, foregoing the typical dealership experience for one that is exclusively customer-first and run by the most experienced and qualified yacht salespeople in the industry.
“This is a big but exciting change for us,” said Dave Northrop, North American V.P. of sales and marketing for Grand Banks and Palm Beach Yachts. “Our main focus is supporting our customers and their needs. Especially with premium products like Grand Banks and Palm Beach Yachts, you should expect more from your relationship with your salesman and the company you choose to trust. We think a customer-direct team-fewer in numbers, but with an intimate knowledge of the product-is far more valuable than a multitude of part-time brokers.”
